Foundation Conversational AI Technologies

In my quest to make sense of the Conversational AI landscape, together with tracking trends like voicebots, fragmentation & NLU Design…I came up with the visual below.

The technologies are all grouped according to relevant areas of CAI/CCAI. Some technologies cover multiple grouping while other technologies are really hard to place in one category.

Please take a look and let me know what you think, any suggestions for improvements are welcome. I would like to create a version 2 in the coming days.

Lastly, I focused on foundation technologies and systems…there are many solutions and products which orchestrate one or more of these foundation technologies, or are based on a white labeled product.. Such an overview will be too vast.
